Awox
Enables Manufacturers to Quickly Deliver
Digital Media Solutions Based on Texas Instruments’
WLAN and DaVinci™ Technology.

Awox, a leader in the home networking
market, today announced it will enable manufacturers
to deliver best-in-class, high performance digital
media solutions as a member of the Texas Instruments
(TI) DSP Third Party Network.
Awox has built a roadmap of products within a long-term
collaborative framework such as UPnP (Universal Plug
and Play) middleware and plug-in applications that
take full advantage of TI’s TMS320DM644x processors
based on DaVinci technology and TI’s ultra low
power TNETD1350A WiFi module, which addresses the
requirements of the home networking market. This cooperative
strategy between TI and Awox ensures manufacturers
have access to turn-key solutions and get to market
quickly with innovative digital media solutions.
“Thanks to the overall acceptance of digital
formats, such as MP3, DVD and TNT, as well as high-speed
Internet, WiFi and mass storage, a fundamental transformation
of digital convergence has occurred in entertainment
content broadcasting and in consumer electronics markets,”
said Robert Rodenbucher, director of business development
at Awox. “Awox is proud to be part of the TI
developer community and is ready to share its know-how
and experience with other developers at the TI Developer
Conference this week.”
“TI’s third party network provides our
customers access to the systems expertise provided
by leading companies in their respective markets,”
said Ben Sheppard, Customer and Partner Marketing
Manager for TI’s Residential Gateway and Embedded
Systems Group. “As an early collaborator to
support TI’s latest WiFi-enabled consumer embedded
solution, Awox has proven to be very responsive to
our customers’ needs and delivers the middleware
architecture and digital media solutions reference
platform to help them quickly deliver differentiated
products.”
As an early adopter of TI’s DaVinci technology
powering its DLNA-compliant Digital Media Adapter
platform, Awox will demonstrate its TI-based solution
at TIDC this week in Dallas.
TIDC features the latest in high-performance digital
signal processing, high-performance analog and microcontroller
system designs. TI CEO Rich Templeton will be joined
by industry leaders, embedded designers, engineers,
project managers, educators and other TI executives
from around the world for the conference, held from
February 28 - March 2, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency in
Dallas, Texas.

Awox
is the European leader in the development
of middleware technologies for aggregation
of digital content on home networks. Aggregation
of content enables users to share their

anywhere within the home. Various members
of the family can share the same multimedia
file simultaneously, in different places,
and totally independently.
AWOX patented modular software platform
supports a wide range of integrated multimedia
products. The company's core business is
developing software and electronic products
for license to OEMs, operators and consumer
electronics manufacturers, based on UPnP
(Universal Plug and Play) and DLNA (Digital
Living Network Alliance) standards. AwoX's
modular architecture helps manufacturers
to rapidly add network functionality by
adapting AwoX's hardware reference design,
customizing AwoX's internationalized user
interface, and developing new plug-ins.
