My WiFi network do not work when my wireless audio/video senders are on

Wifi & A/V sender may use the same range of frequencies so you can have interferences in some cases. To solve the problem, select another frequency on your wireless audio/video sender using switches at the bottom.

Video display on computer display but not on TV set.

Your graphic card may not have sufficient memory to display it. As a matter of fact, we configure your TV output as a secondary screen. To solve the problem, you may select the TV output as the main display, but you will no more be able to use your PC while running mediaCTRL.

No video output when playing DVD.

Your default DVD player do not work properly either because it does not allow a third party application to access, either because it is unable to understand your DVD format. You should download an updated, free evaluation of a DVD player software, such as WinDVD from Intervideo. > http://www.intervideo.com/

More information on DVD available at Microsoft site:

No Video Output.

Check then your TV-out feature of your graphics card. First, turn off your computer. Then connect your graphics card to your TV (download pdf). Once you have all the connections you need, connect your graphics card to your TV. Make sure there are no other devices in between, such as a VCR or switchbox. Then, unplug the PC monitor from your graphics card leaving only the TV connected to your PC. Make sure your TV is set to AUX or Line-In. Otherwise, your graphics card will not detect the presence of a TV. Turn on your PC. The system should automatically detect your TV and send the video signal to your TV. If it does display the video signal onto your TV but stops once you boot into Windows, it may simply be a driver issue. You should download the latest drivers for your graphics card.

If you do not get a video signal on your TV when you turn on your PC, then this means that either your TV is not sending a video signal back to your graphics card to let it know that a TV is present, or that the TV encoder that handles TV output is not functioning. If you have a different TV to test with, please perform the same test to see if the TV-out is working. Check that none of the pins inside the video cable are bent or missing. If you cannot get TV output from any TV, then your TV encoder is probably defective. Contact your graphics card manufacturer or retailer where you purchased your graphics card from for possible graphics card replacement if your card is still under warranty.

Why do I get a black & white image on TV set?

Check first that your graphics card outputs a video standard (PAL, NTSC,
SECAM) supported by your TV set. Be careful your graphics card may propose several variants of PAL, NTSC or SECAM. Here follows configuration screen sample from ATI and NVidia that allows to modify TV standard output.

If you are using the RCA to S-Video converter provided in your mediaCTRL package :

1/ Either your PC video output is a 7-pin mini-din, S-Video standard, and you may force a composite output onto your S-Video port in your video display advanced configuration. Please check your graphics card manual.

If your video display advanced configuration do not provide solution, your graphics card may require a specific S-Video to RCA adapters. For instance, even graphics card from same manufacturer, like ATI Radeon and ATI All-In-Wonder, requires different S-Video to RCA adapters.

2/ Either your PC video output is a 4-pin mini-din, S-Video standard, you may also force a composite output onto your S-Video port. Please check your graphics card manual.

I increased my screen’s resolution and mediaCTRL stick to the lower resolution.

Restart mediaCTRL so that it takes in consideration the screen size change.

The language that I selected during installation was not chosen as mediaCTRL default.

You can choose the language used during mediaCTRL installation but mediaCTRL automatically selects your operating system language as the default.

When I try to start another application from my TV display,
it keeps getting overided by mediaCTRL..

If you want to use other applications on your TV display, please stop mediaCTRL.
As a matter of fact, mediaCTRL implements topmost behaviour in order to never be overrided by
another application.

From time to time, my remote becomes inactive and I need to restart the application.

RThis is related to your power scheme that shutdown USB peripheral and hence, the remote control USB dongle. To correct this, right click on your desktop. In “Display Properties” window, select “Screen Saver”. Click on “Power…”. In “Power Schemes” tab, select “Never” in all settings.

I can hardly hear sound from my DVD.

This is related to the sound management of your DVD by your PC. Our application provides a way to access to this parameter. Click on the AwoX icon in the tray, select Settings. Select Audio. You can first select the checkbox “Increase system volume…”. If this is not sufficient or if you do not want that feature, click on “DVD Sound Settings” and look for a parameter that allows modifying volume of your DVD sound player.

My video card cannot detect a TV output.

Some video cards detect TV output automatically, but it may not work either because of your TV or to your PC. You can force TV ouput in your video driver settings. Some old driver may not offer the ability to force TV output. In this case, download an updated version of your video driver.

mediaCTRL start-up with a message saying no Direct3D support found, but my card do support Direct3D

Your card may provide support but not for your screen resolution. Right click on your destop, choose Properties, tab Settings, and try a lower screen resolution and restart mediaCTRL.
