Created in 2003, AwoX is a pure play in connected objects and smart home technologies. The company’s goal is to connect all electronic devices within a household for sharing multimedia content between computers and everyday electronic devices. AwoX supports the standards created by the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) which groups 200 key players in the Consumer Electronics and IT industries.
AwoX is a member of the DLNA’s Administrative Council, and presides the certification committee. In 2014, the company sold 55 million embedded software licenses for devices such as: smartphones, TVs, decoders, tablets and PCs and has become the world leader in its category.
The company – made up of 82 employees at the end of 2015 – has registered 40 patents and has subsidiaries in the USA and Singapore.
After 10 years of experience in designing and manufacturing several products for different operators and consumer electronics, AwoX launched in 2013 its own brand of products: a line of connected, LED lightbulbs as well as Multi-Room Audio speakers. Today, AwoX commercializes its products in over 30 countries.
In 2014, benefitting from its unique position in the technology sector of connected objects for the household, AwoX became the first Internet of Things based company to be listed in the European stock market. While accelerating its development through innovation and new products, AwoX purchased Cabasse, the name for French audio, in October 2014.
